Since 2004, in Garda, there are lectures on different topics every Thursday from October to April.
Paper, plastic and aluminium, dry and organic waste are collected on different days from "door to door".
Glass, medicines and batteries must be placed in the appropriate containers located across town. Everything else and large waste items can be disposed of at the waste disposal centre. Only residents with a health card are allowed access to the waste disposal centre.

Since 2012 there is a so called "Water House" in the city of Garda.
The idea behind it: to reduce plastic waste and to fill up reusable bottles instead of buying water in the supermarket.
The service is free for all residents. Only sparkling water costs a few cents.

The water supply of Garda is managed by AGS (Azienda Gardesana Servizi) which monitors both drinking water and bathing waters.
